Example interpretation11 — Insight

If your Life Path is 11, numerology sees insight as the theme running through your life. You tend to notice things early: a shift in mood, a gap in a plan, an idea before it's fully formed.

A question to reflect on

When did you last trust a hunch before you could explain it?

Example calculation

How March 14, 2001 adds up. Your own number will replace this example.

  1. Month03= 3
  2. Day141 + 4 = 5
  3. Year20012 + 0 + 0 + 1 = 3
  4. Total3 + 5 + 3 = 11

11 is a master number, so it stays 11 instead of being added up again.

How your number is worked out

Your Life Path number comes from your birth date alone. Here's the method, worked through for October 27, 1983, so you can check any result by hand.

  1. Add up the digits of the month, 10. Stop at one digit, or at 11, 22, or 33.

    1 + 0 = 1

  2. Do the same with the day, 27.

    2 + 7 = 9

  3. Do the same with the year, 1983.

    1 + 9 + 8 + 3 = 212 + 1 = 3

  4. Add the three answers. Reduce the total the same way.

    1 + 9 + 3 = 131 + 3 = 4

So October 27, 1983 has the Life Path number 4.

Master numbers stay whole

A master number is 11, 22 or 33. When a sum lands on one, numerology keeps it as it is instead of adding its digits again.

How the other five numbers work

They're added up and reduced the same way as a date. Only the starting point changes. For the three name numbers, the Pythagorean chart first gives every letter a value from 1 to 9.

Birthday
The day of the month you were born.
Personal Year
Your birth month and day, plus this year. It always comes down to one digit.
Expression
Every letter of your full birth name.
Soul Urge
The vowels in your full birth name.
Personality
The consonants in your full birth name.

For example, the name Rosa is 9 + 6 + 1 + 1 = 17, and 1 + 7 = 8.

Plain answers

What are the six numbers?

Your full chart covers six numbers: Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, Personality, Birthday and Personal Year. Each one looks at a different side of you, as something to reflect on. See what each one describes.

Is this fortune telling?

No. Sumacley doesn't predict anything. It explains what numerology says about each of your numbers, so you can think it over. There are no lucky numbers here, and no advice about money, health or relationships.

Is it free?

Yes. Your Life Path number and your full chart are free today. There's nothing to buy, and no card is needed.

Why do you need my full birth name?

Expression, Soul Urge and Personality come from the letters of the name you were given at birth, so a nickname or a later name gives different numbers. Your Life Path needs only your birth date, so the name is asked for only when you want the full chart.

How do you count the letter Y?

Y counts as a vowel only when it isn't next to A, E, I, O or U in the same name. So in Lynn, Y is a vowel, and in Maya, Y is a consonant. A space or hyphen starts a new name, so the Y in Mary Ann is a vowel.

What if my name has accents, spaces or hyphens?

An accented letter counts as its plain letter, so José counts as JOSE. Spaces, hyphens and apostrophes are skipped, so Mary-Jane O'Neil counts the letters of MARY, JANE, O and NEIL. The calculator reads the Latin letters A to Z, so a name written in another alphabet, such as Greek or Cyrillic, can't be worked out, and the form says so.

Do I need a password?

No. Your full chart comes by a one-time link sent to your email. Open it and you're signed in to your private page. If a link has expired, you can ask for a new one.

What happens to my birth details?

Your birth date is used only to work out your number on this page, and our server doesn't save it. Your browser tab remembers your last result until you close it, so a reload keeps your number. If you ask for your full chart, we keep your name, birth date and email to build your private page and send your link. We never sell your birth details. Read the privacy noticeOpens in a new tab.
